I received a B.Sc. with First Class Honours in Mathematics from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada in June 1984.

My G.P.A equivalent was 3.6 (out of a possible 4). My main studies were in logic, computability theory, algorithms, electronic and computer music.

Additionally, I was President of the Math Club for two years, and worked as both a consultant in the computer science department and a teaching assistant in the math department for three and a half years.
